Russian robber strikes again
Ivan Prosvetov stole another game for the Saginaw Spirit on Thursday night. The Russian-born goalie stopped 39 of 40 shots to lead surging Saginaw to a 2-1 home-ice victory over the Sarnia Sting.
In his previous start, the 6-foot-5 Prosvetov made a season-high 48 saves for his second shutout of the 2018-2019 Ontario Hockey League campaign as Saginaw blanked the Owen Sound Attack 3-0.
A National Hockey League prospect of the Arizona Coyotes, the 19-year old Prosvetov has stopped 87 of 88 shots over his last two starts to improve his save percentage to .896 with a 3.16 goals against average and 12-4-1 record.
Saginaw is in fourth place in the Western Conference with a record of 14-9-3 and has a 3-0-1 mark since Chris Lazary replaced Troy Smith as head coach.
