Sault Ste. Marie product Gage Evans has signed with the Windsor Zone of the Under 18 Minor Hockey Alliance of Ontario, Hockey News North has confirmed.

A 6-foot-3, 187 pound defenseman, Evans was selected by the Windsor Spitfires in the 14th round of the 2022 Ontario Hockey League priority selections draft from the Soo Jr. Greyhounds of the Great North Under 18 Hockey League.

Notably, Evans’ dad, Cory Evans, played for the Spitfires from 1993 to 1995 after being acquired in a trade with the London Knights. A hustling, hard-hitting howitzer of a left winger, the elder Evans was originally drafted by London in the seventh round of the 1991 OHL priority selections draft.
