Kingston Frontenacs have acquired 1996 birth-year forward Cody Caron from the Niagara Ice Dogs for a sixth-round draft pick in 2015.

A Sault Ste. Marie native, Caron had 1 goal and 44 penalty minutes in 34 games for Niagara this season.

This is Caron’s second season in the Ontario Hockey League.

“Cody adds a physical presence and we’re excited to have him join our lineup,” Kingston general manager Doug Gilmour said of the 6-foot-2, 185 pound Caron.

Prior to being drafted by Niagara and making it to the OHL, Caron spent the 2012-2013 season with the Soo North Stars of the Great North Midget Hockey League. In 40 games, playoffs included, Caron scored 35 goals for the Soo midgets.
