Albany Devils of the American Hockey League have signed forward Blake Speers and defenseman Colton White of the Ontario Hockey League Soo Greyhounds to amateur tryout agreements for the remainder of the 2015-2016 season.

Both players were selected by the New Jersey Devils at the 2015 National Hockey League draft — Speers in the third round and White in the fourth.

They are joining an Albany team that is the top farm club of New Jersey. Albany is coached by Rick Kowalsky, who captained the Greyhounds to the 1993 Memorial Cup championship.

Speers and White — who played starring roles for the Greyhounds in their recent playoff run which ended with a second-round loss to the top-seeded Erie Otters — both have 1997 birth dates and are expected to return to the Soo for their fourth OHL season in 2016-2017.
