Maxim Grondin, a hulking 6-foot-3, 195-pound centre who hails from the northeastern Ontario town of Hearst, has signed with the Saginaw Spirit of the Ontario Hockey League.

Grondin was a second-round pick of the Spirit at the 2016 OHL draft.

Saginaw general manager Dave Drinkill commented on what Grondin brings to the Spirit.

”He is a player that continually got better as the (2015-2016) season went on and his skill set really started to show. His mix of size, ability and style of play is something that is needed in our lineup,” Drinkill said of the 2000 birth-year pivot.
