Sudbury Wolves have a signed commitment from their first-round pick at the 2014 Ontario Hockey League draft.

Michael Pezzetta, a 6-foot-1, 200 pound forward, skated for the Mississauga Senators of the Greater Toronto Hockey League in 2013-2014 and was their scoring leader with 26 points in 29 games.

“Michael is exactly the kind of hockey player that this team needs to build our team around for the future,” said Wolves general manager Blaine Smith. “He is an outstanding leader, he competes extremely hard and he has very good offensive skills. Our fans are really going to enjoy watching Michael perform.”

From his end, Pezzetta is as excited to commit to the Wolves.

“I am extremely proud to become a member of the Sudbury Wolves,” said Pezzetta. “I have heard nothing but great things about the organization and I know that they will provide me with an excellent opportunity to develop and contribute to the team’s success.”
