Sudbury Wolves have acquired 6-foot-9, 240-pound defenceman Jarett Meyer from the Owen Sound Attack in exchange for fellow defender Trenton Bourque in an Ontario Hockey League trade finalized early this afternoon.

“(Meyer) will add some key components to our group, including size and experience, that will be valuable elements to our team now and moving forward,” said Wolves general manager Barclay Branch.

The Wolves, who are in last place in the Eastern Conference of the OHL, gave up youth for experience in the deal as Bourque was born in 1998 while Meyer has a 1996 birth date.

The trade is the second of the week swung by rookie GM Branch, who earlier obtained 1997 birth-year forward Ryan Valentini from the London Knights for a future second-round draft pick.
