Sunday success on the road

At Kingston, Dawson Carty made 35 saves for Hamilton and the Bulldogs needed only 23 shots on Frontenacs goalie Jeremy Helvig to pull out a 5-4 win. It was the second straight road victory for no. 5 seed Hamilton over no. 4 seed Kingston to begin the Eastern Conference playoffs.
In another Eastern block first-round set, no. 7 seed Ottawa blanked no. 2 seed Mississauga Steelheads 4-0 to tie the best-of-seven series 1-1. Leo Lazarev pitched the shutout for Ottawa.
