So far so good for 1997 birth-year goalie Troy Timpano, who was acquired by the Erie Otters in an off-season Ontario Hockey League trade with the Sudbury Wolves.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Timpano has been a standout for Erie through three starts spanning 180 minutes to begin the 2016-2017 season.

Not only does Timpano have a perfect 3-0-0 record but he has a 1.67 goals against average and .941 save percentage for the Otters, who have a 4-3-0 mark as a team.

Timpano’s numbers in Erie are a contrast from the past two seasons in Sudbury in which the Wolves missed the playoffs both times. Timpano’s record during the two playoff-miss seasons in Sudbury was 19-58-3.

Timpano was acquired by Erie for multiple draft picks from Sudbury, which elected to go with fellow veteran Zack Bowman and rookie Jake McGrath between the pipes.

As Erie is off to a 4-3-0 start to this season, Sudbury has a record of 4-2-1.
