Todd Gill to Owen Sound
Former Kingston Frontenacs bench boss Todd Gill is returning to the Ontario Hockey League after a three-year absence as the new head coach of the Owen Sound Attack.
The 51-year old Gill has spent the past few seasons as an assistant coach with the California-based Stockton Heat of the American Hockey League.
Before that, Gill was Kingston’s head coach for three seasons with the Frontenacs improving their record under his watch each year.
A former standout OHL defenseman with the Windsor Spitfires, Gill went on to play in more than 1,000 National Hockey League games as a hard-rock blue-liner.
Until the Fronts blew a 3-0 series lead and lost in game 7 overtime to the Petes, the first round drought continued and Gill was out of a job the following week.
