Leader of Fighting Walleye
Reigning champion Kam River Fighting Walleye of the Superior International Jr. Hockey League has named homegrown product Jeremy Dunmore as team captain for the 2023-2024 season.
Dunmore, a 2003 birth year forward, has been a productive performer over two full seasons with the Fighting Walleye. Regular season and playoffs included, the 6-foot-2, 185 pound Dunmore has come through with 49 goals, 79 assists, 128 points in 116 games for Kam River.
Jesse Messier, who is the new head coach of the Fighting Walleye, has been quick to embrace Dunmore.
‘“Jeremy has been a leader on and off the ice since we have gotten together as a group. He leads by example each and every day and is constantly pushing the group to reach their potential. He knows what it takes to be a champion and will hold his teammates accountable to that standard,” relayed Messier.
Messier, as the new head coach of the Fighting Walleye of the SIJHL, has a background that includes being an assistant in the Ontario Hockey League with the Saginaw Spirit.
