From the Central Canada Hockey League to the Superior International Jr. Hockey League goes a seasoned defenseman.

Kam River Fighting Walleye of the SIJHL has obtained 2002 birth year defender Kyle Lamoureux from the Carleton Place Canadians of the CCHL in a cash exchange.

The 5-foot-11, 180 pound Lamoureux was a ninth round pick of the Saskatoon Blades at the 2017 Western Hockey League draft.

Hailing from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Lamoureux played five games in the CCHL for Carleton Place this season. And prior to this season, he skated in 58 games for the Winkler Flyers of the Manitoba Jr. Hockey League.

“I’m really excited to come to Kam River and want to get to work right away to show what I can bring to the team,” Lamoureux told the Chronicle-Journal of Thunder Bay.

He is expected to make his SIJHL debut when the Fighting Walleye travels to Dryden to take on the Ice Dogs on Friday of this week.
