Fighting Irish to Adrian College

A pair of graduating forwards from the Detroit Fighting Irish of the erstwhile Midwest Jr. Hockey League — now the U.S. Premier Hockey League — will move on to play with the Adrian College Bulldogs of the American Collegiate Hockey Association in 2015-2016.

Detroit area products Ken Winter and James Smith, who both have 1994 birth dates, have committed to play at Adrian.

Adrian is located about 90 miles southwest of Detroit.

Winter and Smith are both coming off a productive 2014-2015 season with the Fighting Irish, who are coached by long-time junior hockey bench boss Dan Vasquez.

Playoffs included, Winter had 41 goals, 23 assists, 64 points in 41 games in 2014-2015.

Playoffs included, Smith had 12 goals, 28 assists, 40 points in 32 games in 2014-2015.

Notably, Winter was named MWJHL forward-of-the-year for the 2014-2015 campaign.
