Kam River Fighting Walleye and Wisconsin Lumberjacks both had two wins on the weekend as 2022-2023 regular season play got underway in the Superior International Jr. Hockey League.

Ethan Lang and Braeden Duchesne had two goals apiece and Eric Vanska was between the pipes for both victories as Kam River scored 5-2 and 2-1 road wins over the Dryden Ice Dogs.

Meanwhile, Ryder McMillen totalled two goals, four assists, six points, Dillon Phillips had five assists and Salvatore Poggiali tallied three times as Wisconsin upended the reigning champion Red Lake Miners by 5-2 and 4-2 margins. Kyler Lowden was the winning goalie in both games for Wisconsin.
