Ice Dogs chasing Bombers
Dryden Ice Dogs will go on the road to Sioux Lookout this week to try to hand the first place Bombers their first loss of the young Superior International Jr. Hockey League season.
The Ice Dogs have a 3-1-0 record to date while Sioux Lookout has a perfect 4-0-0 mark to start the 2023-2024 season.
It looms as a hectic road schedule for Dryden this week as besides the visit to Sioux Lookout, the Ice Dogs are slated to play two games in Thunder Bay against the North Stars. Thunder Bay takes a record of 1-2-0 into play this week.
Of note, three different goalies have one win apiece for Dryden. They are Mike O’Sullivan, Braxton Castagno and Ewan Soutar.
Meanwhile, defenseman Sebastiano Biagi leads the Ice Dogs in scoring with three goals. The big defenseman is in his second season in the SIJHL, having split the 2023-2024 campaign between Dryden and the Kam River Fighting Walleye.
