Ice Dogs of the Superior

Beware the hard charging Ice Dogs. Dryden Ice Dogs are going full tilt into the second round of the Superior International Jr. Hockey League playoffs.

The Ice Dogs are fresh from skating past the Fort Frances Lakers in a convincing manner in the opening round of the SIJHL playoffs. Dryden outscored Fort Frances 32-13 in winning the best of seven series four games to one.

The Ice Dogs scored 7-4, 9-3, 6-2 and 9-2 wins over the Lakers. The only blemish for Dryden was a 2-1 loss in which the Ice Dogs outshot Fort Frances by a 57-25 margin.

Several skaters put up notable numbers for Dryden in the five-game takedown of the rivals from Fort Frances.

Landen Stromme paced the Ice Dogs attack with four goals, four assists, eight points in the five games. Up next were James Hooton at 3-4-7, captain Brady Frattinger at 4-2-6, Ben Hackl and Jordan Pfoh both at 2-4-6, Max Roby at 1-5-6, McLaren Paulsen at 4-1-5 and Bryce Benfield, who had two goals, two assists, four points in just one game.

Between the pipes, Eric Clark was in the net for all 300 minutes of the series and posted a 4-1 record to go with a 2.60 goals against average and .907 save percentage.
