Kevin McCallum has been wheeling and dealing ahead of the 2021-2022 junior hockey season. The general manager of the Kam River Fighting Walleye of the Superior International Jr. Hockey League has been involved in four separate transactions thus far this summer.

All four trades included players being swapped for cash considerations.

• Kam River dealt three 2001 birth year skaters to the Espanola Express of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League. Heading to Espanola are defensemen Zachary Fulton and Caleb Resch and forward Ben Couvier.

• Also on the move from Kam River to the NOJHL is Hayden Cattani, with the 2002 birth year forward traded to the Elliot Lake Red Wings.

• Brendan Murray, a 2001 birth year forward, was picked up by Kam River from the Yarmouth Mariners of the Maritime Hockey League.

• A major pickup of the off season for Kam River is 2001 birth year defenseman Zachary Fortin, who was obtained from the Timmins Rock of the NOJHL. Besides having played parts of two seasons in Timmins, Fortin has the experience of 68 games with the Gatineau Olympiques of the Quebec Major Jr. Hockey League.
