Kam River signs OHL draft pick
Homegrown goalie Travis VanderZwaag has signed with the reigning champion Kam River Fighting Walleye of the Superior International Jr. Hockey League.
VanderZwaag, who has a 2007 birth date, tended goal for the AAA Under 16 Thunder Bay Kings in 2022-2023. The lanky puck stopper was subsequently picked by the London Knights in the 15th round of this year’s Ontario Hockey League priority selections draft.
VanderZwaag will develop with Kam River under the tutelage of Fighting Walleye goalie coach Kari Rikkonen.
