Now that’s a big Walleye!
Kam River Fighting Walleye of the Superior International Jr. Hockey League has reeled in a big fish from rural Saskatchewan.
Hockey News North has confirmed that the Fighting Walleye has signed Jesse Swanson, who is a mammoth 6-foot-7, 230 pound rookie forward.
Kam River general manager Kevin McCallum had plenty good to say about Swanson when asked.
“Jesse has come into prospects camp and gained a lot of attention. He brings way more skill than was expected by our hockey operations staff. He has scored goals, played physically and has been a real surprise for us. He will have a successful SIJHL season,” McCallum told Hockey News North.
Swanson, who has a 2003 birth date, hails from the small Saskatchewan town of Big River.
After playing minor hockey in Saskatchewan, Swanson also suited up for the Ontario Hockey Academy.
