Having two teams that are based in the United States will allow the Superior International Jr. Hockey League to return to regular season game action next week.

Wisconsin Lumberjacks and the Thief River Falls (Minnesota) Norskies are slated to face off in four matches next week — Tuesday (January 11), Wednesday (January 12), Friday (January 14) and Saturday (January 15.)

It will be Wisconsin at Thief River Falls on Tuesday and Wednesday before the Norskies play host to the Lumberjacks on Friday and Saturday.

Wisconsin is in fifth place in the seven-team SIJHL with 13 points from a record of 6-17-1. Thief River Falls is in sixth spot with six points from a record of 3-14-0 and has seven games in hand on Wisconsin.

The other five teams of the SIJHL — all based in northwestern Ontario — are scheduled to resume play on the January 28 weekend when the province is slated to emerge from a health restrictions lockdown.
