The first place team in the Superior International Jr. Hockey League has added two 19-year old forwards from the Saskatchewan Jr. Hockey League in a cash exchange.

Kam River Fighting Walleye of the SIJHL has acquired Anthony Oviedo and Logan Gallaher from the La Ronge Ice Wolves of the SJHL. Both are American-born skaters.

Oviedo had two goals, two assists, four points in 23 games while Gallaher had three goals in 14 outings for La Ronge.

Fighting Walleye general manager Kevin McCallum commented on the acquisition of the two forwards.

“We are excited about making the move to bring in Anthony Oviedo and Logan Gallaher. We believe they add depth and skill that we need to make a major push in our league and hopefully beyond,” McCallum told Hockey News North.

“Logan Gallaher brings us size and toughness with skill that we believe we needed. Anthony Oviedo is another big piece of our puzzle to add depth. We are excited as they are both quality kids and both excited to get here and go after our main objective,” summed up McCallum.

Kam River is in first place in the SIJHL with a sparkling record of 22-3-1.
