Detroit Fighting Irish goalie George Hill was stopping pucks and setting up goals on Friday.

Hill — who spent three days earlier in the week practising with the Soo Eagles of the North American Hockey League — made 29 saves and assisted on two Detroit goals as the Fighting Irish outlasted the visiting Motor City Monarchs 5-4 in one of three Midwest Jr. Hockey League games played.

Richard Pinkowski, Nolan Jakrzewski, Aaron Robinson, Chase Tackett and Christian Ramage all scored solo goals as Detroit held off a late Motor City surge to post the win over its arch-rivals.

What you think about “29 saves, 2 assists”

  1. Hill has been the most consistent goalie for the Irish for about the passed 2 months or so. I am not sure why that he does not play more games than he has dose. Oh well it was nice that the Irish won the Game and that they got good solid play from George.
