Four of the best of the Midwest
The Midwest Jr. Hockey League has announced its most-recent players-of-the-week.
The following players-of-the-week cover the period ending Sunday, December 7.
Forward of the Week: Ken Winter, Detroit Fighting Irish
Now a three-time winner of the award this 2014-2015 season, Winter scored five shorthanded goals as the Fighting Irish capped a winning week in which it took seven of a possible eight points.
Over the four games, Winter wound up for eight goals and added three assists.
Defenseman of the Week: Jarrad Vroman, MC Monarchs
Vroman, a 1997 birth-year blueliner who has the potential to play at a higher level of junior hockey next season, potted three goals and totalled five points in three games last week.
On the season, Vroman leads all MWJHL defensemen with 36 points, including 10 goals and is fifth overall in league scoring.
Goaltender of the Week: David Krejcik, Traverse City Hounds
Krejcik played in just one game last week but stopped all 30 shots fired his way as the Hounds blanked the Soo Firehawks 5-0.
Rookie of the Week: Zach Eitrem, Soo Firehawks
A 1994 birthdate who hadn’t played competitive hockey in two years, Eitrem scored his first junior goal last weekend.
The goal was extremely special for the Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., native as Eitrem has been dealing with the unexpected passing of his father, Stephen, back in early November.

Vroman can play in the NA no doubt about that at all. He could play on any team in the North Division right now IMHO.
