Kudos to Jonak, Luca, Gorzelski, Long
The Midwest Jr. Hockey League has announced its players of the month for December.
The awards are voted on by MWJHL coaches, general managers and league staff.
Forward of the Month: Adam Jonak, MC Monarchs
Jonak piled up multi-point games in seven of eight contests in December, recording 11 goals, 13 assists, 24 points.
Defenceman of the Month: Scott Luca, Traverse City Hounds
Luca saw action in seven games last month and contributed two goals, four assists, six points for first-place TC.
Goaltender of the Month: Jacob Gorzelski, Detroit Fighting Irish
The Fighting Irish fought to a 6-0-1 record last month and Gorzelski was the goalie of record in three of the six victories.
Rookie of the Month: Eric Long, Detroit Fighting Irish
The rookie forward potted 8 goals and added 2 assists for a 10-point December. Two of Long’s goals were game winners.
