Minot Minotauros defenseman Scott Dornbrock has committed to play Division 1, National Collegiate Athletic Association hockey for the Miami of Ohio RedHawks effective the 2014-2015 season.

Dornbrock was acquired via North American Hockey League trade with the Topeka Roadrunners during the 2012-2013 season.

He has since played in 80 games for Minot.

The commitment was made at the NAHL’s Top Prospects Tournament, which was held in Troy, Michigan, earlier this week.

Minotauros head coach Marty Murray noted that going to Miami of Ohio “will be a great fit for Scott.”

Dornbrock in turn said that, “Miami has always been at the top of the list of schools I wanted to play at. I’m ecstatic to play at my dream school.”
