This is one special fundraiser.

Coulee Region Chill of the North American Hockey League and one of its sponsors are teaming up to promote awareness and raise funds for multiple sclerosis research.

MS is close to the heart for both the Chill and a particular sponsor.

Chill coach-general manager A.J. Degenhardt was diagnosed with the disease a few years ago and is working to raise awareness and education about the disease in the Coulee Region.

Meanwhile, the realty firm of Coldwell Banker River Valley has its own history with MS.

Founded by Chuck and Ardene Olson, Coldwell Banker River Valley began learning about MS when Ardene was diagnosed with it more than eight years ago. Since then, the Olson family has seen the progressive nature of MS on Ardene.

From its end, Chill hockey players will be wearing special MS jerseys to support coach Degenhardt — and all who suffer from MS at its home game on Saturday.

There will be a silent auction for the jerseys and all proceeds from the it will go towards MS research.

The Coulee Region team will also be selling t-shirts for the rest of the 2013-2014 NAHL season that supports a theme of ‘Fight the Battle with MS’.
