Six of its nine teams will take to the ice on Friday, October 3 when the first pucks drop on the 2014-2015 Midwest Jr. Hockey League season.

The trio of opening-night games has Soo Firehawks home to Michigan Ice Dogs, the defending champion Traverse City Hounds playing host to West Michigan Freeze and Berkley Bruins visiting MC Monarchs.

For the Firehawks, the October 3 opener against the Ice Dogs will be one of three games between the two teams that weekend. The Firehawks and Ice Dogs will also face off on Saturday night (October 4) and Sunday afternoon (October 5.)

What you think about “MWJHL finalizes schedule”

  1. Irish American …
It is my understanding that the M.C. Monarchs will be playing their home games out of either Fraser or St. Clair Shores.

  2. Mount Clemens Ice Arena is where I was told the “MC Monarchs” will be playing altho I cannot say for sure 100 %. This is the site that writes about this Mid-West Hockey League and I am for certan that I read it here that the “MC Monarchs” will be playing at Mount Clemens Ice Arena. It is on North Groesbeck and its a nice facility .

  3. If you go to the website (MCMonarchs.com), the MC Monarchs Facebook page, the Twitter page (MonarchsMC) it’s pretty clear we are playing out of the Mount Clemens Ice Arena. That decision was made in April. Not sure where the confusion came from. We are very happy to be there.

  4. To Randy Russon,

As a parent of a young hockey player (1997) from the Downriver area I want to comment as to to how much I enjoy your many Articles on the varrious Teams, Players & Leagues from Michigan and up your way in Canada. I find this Hockey Website to be interresting and informative all in one . You are gaining quite the reader-ship just from this Area alone. So keep up the good work and perhaps you will visit us for a Game at the Ice Box.
