Top rookie in the Midwest
High-scoring forward Trevor Pode of the Motor City Monarchs has been named Midwest Jr. Hockey League Rookie of the Year.
Voting was conducted by the MWJHL’s seven head coaches.
A 1996 birth-year skater, Pode finished first among all MWJHL rookies and second in league scoring with 33 goals, 43 assists, 76 points in 36 games.
Pode is also a member of the 2014-2015 MWJHL all-rookie team along forwards Cam Givens (Traverse City Hounds) and Brandon Bihn (Alpena Flyers), defencemen Stan Swiderek (Traverse City) and Shane Dawson (Alpena) and goalie Cody Call (Soo Firehawks).
